Today I Choose…

FB_IMG_1431228619052

Today I choose joy as I hold her in my arms
I choose to serve her even late at night
I choose to love her dad more than anything
Her little, tiny smile makes my heart sing.

I choose to be happy no matter what day it is
I choose to love her dearly just the way she is
I choose to play with her even when I’m sad
She makes me smile, she makes me forget.

I choose to be a child in the midst of adults
I choose to grow every day for my child
I choose to watch her when she’s asleep
Lay on the floor, beside her, when she is sick.

I choose to be kind with family and friends
I choose to give to strangers a helping hand
I choose to kiss ‘good night’ with a smiling face
I feel I was blessed and I want to bless.

I choose to be a parent when she needs a guide
I choose to be a friend when she needs some fun
I choose to cook with love and… What a bliss!
To have as a dessert my daughter’s sweet kiss!

My life is full of choices I make everyday
Every night a little prayer for her I say
Even when tired I want the best way
She might want to be like me someday!

Krishtlindje

Nese bie bore, nese edhe s’bie,

Dhurata nese s’marr sic kjo feste ka hije,

Nese nuk kam peme e drita ne shtepi,

Serish kam gezim sepse jam femije.

Nese s’kam c’te jap, do jap nje perqafim,

Kartolina nese s’kam, I bej vete me mire,

Babagjyshi  vjen apo jo, ate nate per mua,

Eshte nje dhurate tjeter qe vertet une dua.

Ai lindi ne nje grazhd shume vite me pare,

E takuan dhe barinj, edhe dijetare,

Per drita kishte yjet atje lart ne qiell,

Por ndriti gjithe boten ashtu sic ndrin nje diell.

Po, vertet i dua gjithe keto zbukurime,

Edhe pemen e bukur ne shtepizen time,

Dhe dritat, dhe kenget dhe boren qe bie,

Pa harruar ditelindjen e ketij femije.

Sa dua te kendoj me te gjithe ne bote,

Nje kenge e embel te na bashkoje sot,

Ajo nate e qete, ajo nate e shenjte,

Ajo nate plot drite, per mua e shtrenjte.

Bebi Jezus

Bebi Jezus lindi ne nje grazhd

Aty kish dele, lope e te tjera kafshe.

Prinderit e rriten me shume dashuri,

Ashtu sic prinderit e tu, te duan ty.

Ai lindi qe jeta te marre nje tjeter kuptim,

I do te gjithe, ty, mua dhe vellain tim.

Ne nuk jetojme vec per veten tani,

Jetojme te shkembejme me shume dashuri.

Bebi Jezus: “Gezuar Ditelindjen!”

Te gjithe ju: “Gezuar Krishtlindjen!”

She Can

Dans_le_wagon_terrasse

She’s out there

Dreaming somewhere

She wants to tell to the world that…she can.

She is out there

So beautiful

She is mine

She brings joy and she brings life

She closes her eyes

And she closes her hopes for another night

She has dreams, so many of them

She knows that she can.

She is the one that you would love

She gives hope to the world.

For a brighter day, for some happiness

No more fear in her life

That’s what I pray

She just wants a chance

Give her a chance!

Many said “You won`t make it,

You were born in the wrong place!

Many said “You are too young

The same told you, “Now it’s too late!

But deep in herself she hoped for that day

The day that her hopes were worth the try.

She didn’t listen because that inner voice

Told her not to cry

She got up on that bus,

She got up on that train

She got up on that plane

She saw an angel

She saw him fly

She took his wings

And went up high

She said she’ll make people happy

And one day when no one knew

She smiled.

Lullaby On A Rocking Chair

Perrault_Leon_Jean_Basile_Son_favori

An empty rocking chair won’t rock
If you don’t sit on it,
A lullaby won’t live
If you don’t sing,
A hand will be lonely
If you don’t hold another hand,
Words will disappear
If written on sand.
A heart will grow cold
Without the warmth of love,
A house without people
Cannot be called `home`,
We all need each-other
On bright days and gray ones,
I would not be `me`
Without everyone.

The Portrait of a Father

DSC_6536

He gave up his dreams when he called me his

He started to see the world in this new bright bliss

He named me and kissed me and held me in his arms

He saw his wife become the best of all moms.

He treasured every moment we spent together

He said: I’ll always be your dad, every day, forever!

He held me on his shoulders at every soccer game

As long as I admired him, he didn’t search for fame.

He worked hard everyday, got blisters on his hands

I thought that was gross, I didn’t understand

On almost every birthday, he bought me new shoes

They were red and shiny, exactly what I’d choose.

He brought people home and animals in need

We didn’t have much but had enough to eat

He taught me to believe that love can break the ice

He taught me to see through other people’s eyes.

He taught me the toughest ones sometimes cry alone

He doesn’t talk much when he’s on the phone

But he gives the biggest smile that a man can be

And gives the biggest hug that is only for me.

As years have gone through and we have grown up

We live in great distance as shown on the map

You are deep in my heart where you should always be

In memories of mine, in my love, you live next to me.

You’ve Got Mail

mail box

The postman appears at your mailbox

And still awakens that hope

That there are no bills, no commercial letters

No sign up for this or for that…just for one day.

But just a letter, a love letter,

A card, a leaf in an envelope,

A blank paper with dried tears

Because someone was thinking of you!

The postman appears at your mailbox

and you wait like a child waits for Santa

For just a note, a printed photo from far,

A drawing of a star from that little hand you miss…

I still hope, everyday I hope.

Oh the hopes a mailbox can bring!

When Your Dream Goes Dim

Here I am, surrounded by 4 dogs. My daughter just fell asleep and I try to decide either to write or to take a nap. It is one of those days when you feel that no one actually likes what you write, one of those days when you understand people actually don’t have time to read, a day that you think that a Stay at Home Mom is not a real job!

Sometimes my husband comes home and asks me about my day and I say, “Oh I did nothing much!”, and start telling him about the cutest things our daughter did throughout the day.

I feel I did nothing much because I used to work with tens or sometimes hundreds of kids and now taking care of only one feels like it’s ‘not good enough’. I say “nothing much” because I don’t have important meetings with writers, illustrators or event planners or graphic designers or artists or world changers etc, etc. “Nothing much” because it is random daily stuff I do: feed, change diapers, play, educate, clean, cook and in the middle of all this I try to find some time for writing.

Sometimes it feels that no matter how hard we try it’s not good enough. It is this idea inside our heads that by doing ‘big things’ is the way appreciate ourselves.

Mother Teresa says: Love begins at home and it is not how much we do but how much love we put in that action.

Yes, taking care of my daughter is the greatest and the most important thing for me to do, in order to help the world to be a better place. I give her love and I teach her kindness and I read to her and we have fun and… oh, I love that I’m so privileged to do this.

I am so privileged that no matter how hard it gets sometimes in the end of the day I feel loved because I was faithful in these little things I’m doing.

I feel privileged that my meetings are between me and this little girl that I always dreamed to have as my daughter. I don’t have a lot of money or a lot of people reading my writings, I’m not publishing any books for children but I’m living my Big Dream! I’m helping my daughter to write the Book of her Life!

I want to encourage you too, if you feel you are not doing what your highest call is, think twice! Maybe you are living it!

Never Give Up Doing These 5 Things

IMG_2627

1. Never give up being kind even when others hurt you. Nothing hurts more than a bitter heart.

2. Never give up smiling even with no reason. Nothing is more reasonable than smiling just by looking at yourself in the mirror. You have one more day to live fully!

3. Never give up your dream even when things get hard. Nothing is harder than doing something you don’t like for the rest of your life.

4. Never give up giving even when you’re poor. Nothing is more poor that someone who thinks that can’t give anything to others.

5. Never give up believing even when it seems that there’s no way.  Sometimes a new way opens by a small miracle.
